Planner I

Position: Planner I with 0-3 years of experience (Full-time)

Location: Washington, DC/ Philadelphia, PA. (COVID Remote)

If you said yes, Nspiregreen is looking for you. We are seeking a new member of our team. The Planner I will work across multiple projects supporting both planning and public engagement task.

Key Areas of Work: Urban planning, urban design, transportation planning, environmental planning, public engagement, social equity, civil engineering

 

Planning duties may include field data collection, data analysis, developing alternatives, GIS mapping, transforming data into visual presentations, writing technical reports, and participating in planning and design workshops with clients. Strong written and oral communications skills are required. The ability to multi-task and work as part of a team is also required. Regional travel may be required.

 

Public engagement duties may include assisting with public outreach strategies and techniques, planning and staffing community meetings and special events, creating public information/outreach materials/community messaging, assisting with graphics and document design, and managing social media. This position will require occasional attendance at weekday, evening, and weekend meetings. In addition, the candidate must be able to perform well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

 

Requirements: Bachelors degree, Masters preferred in Urban Planning or a related field such as civil engineering, landscape architecture, geography, public policy, etc. 0+ years experience in a related field.

Software requirements: MS Office, GIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri software), Wordpress, Social Media programs (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr), Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator).

Planner II

Position: Planner II with 3-5 years of experience (Full-time)

Location: Washington, DC/ Philadelphia, PA. (COVID Remote)

Experience

  • 3-5 years (Urban planning, transportation, public engagement, community, public meetings, social media, civil engineering)

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree (preferred).

 

Technical Knowledge 

  • Identifies and recommends appropriate technical procedures that should be used on a project 

  • Assists with identifying and analyzing transportation planning issues, including: Determining datasets required to bring forth the best answer.  

  • Provides interpretation on feasibility of implementation or concerns around the results 

  • Manages medium planning studies and analyses 

  • Coordinates and reviews technical work performed by other project team members. 

  • Writes technical reports and creating presentation of findings that have been presented to a diverse group of clients and the public 

  • Interfaces with client and community stakeholders 

  • Finalizes production of environmental documents, transportation plans and reports 

  • Finalizes production of graphics associated with public meetings, presentation drawings, reports, etc. 

  • Analyzes and presents the study result. 

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite 

 

Management 

  • Serves as a Task Manager on small to medium sized projects 

  • Coordinates with sub consultants and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks 

  • Coordinates and interfaces with the project team members during the course of a project. 

  • Coordinates with clients on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks 

  • Assist with developing project budgets and scope 

  • Communicates project resource needs to principal-in-charge 

Leadership 

  • Takes ownership of project assignments 

  • Displays initiative, adaptability, and reliability 

 

Business Development 

  • Networks with potential business prospects for teaming opportunities or to gather business intelligence and win more work 

  • Assists in the preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to RFPs 

 

General 

  • Maintain an average 85% billability rate 

  • Facilitates and attends public meetings, which includes evenings and weekends 

  • Other duties as assigned
